Office leasing activity in Washington, D.C., plunged in the third quarter by 35 percent from a year ago, to 1.5 million square feet, according to Savills. The federal government, The District’s largest office user, continues to favor hybrid work schedules. Even if it didn’t, it could rid itself of one-third of the space it occupies.
