The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funded 154 loans with a balance of $2.52 billion against multifamily and healthcare properties during the first quarter of its latest fiscal year. That’s a 38 percent drop in production from the same period a year earlier, when the agency funded 249 loans with a balance of $4.09 billion.
